The Dandelion Patch @ The Edinburgh Fringe (2019)

In 2019 we adapted The Dandelion Patch for performance at the Edinburgh Fringe. The piece was then performed by a group of veterans and professional actors. The piece was directed by Hannah Uttley and Chloe Din and was supported by Sandie Jamieson.

The piece was rehearsed in Dundee over 2 weeks before it’s performance run at The Space @ Surgeons Hall.

The project was a huge challenge, the original piece needed to be edited from 1 hr 15mins to under 50mins, the veterans had to take on more performances than in previous projects and were also working from a script for the first time (albeit, one they had written), however the process was enjoyed by all and we are very proud of the group for their achievement. The group were bolstered by positive feedback received from audience members, many of whom said the piece had given them a new understanding of what it means to be a veteran. One audience member even told the cast that the piece inspired to talk to her own brother about issues he was experiencing.

You can watch the piece below or on our Vimeo page.
