Operation Resilience (2019)

In May 2019 Stand Easy devised and toured ‘Operation Resilience’.

The play was based on research into the Falklands Conflict. It looked at how we deal with stressful situations and how important taking help from those around us can be. It examined resilience and how sometimes resilience can actually be the process of putting off dealing with mental health issues.

As usual, although the subject matter was serious, we had great fun putting the play together. This year we worked with a Musical Director as well as a Director and our participants really enjoyed the uplifting quality of the music. They sang three songs in the play and one of them they wrote the words and the music – a real achievement.

The play toured to Community Centres in Dundee, Poppy Scotland at Redford Barracks in Edinburgh, the Erskine House Activity Centre in Paisley, the PKAVS Walled Garden Project in Perth and we finished with a full house at the Dundee Rep Theatre.
