Stand Easy uses theatre and theatre skills as a means of assisting the process of recovery for wounded, injured and sick military personnel (WIS), both serving and veteran. Project affirm skills the participants bring with them from their military service: team work, discipline, a sense of humour, communication skills, courage and a support and respect for each other’s role. It builds on these skills and raise self-awareness, confidence, motivation and self-esteem in the participants. We work in a safe but challenging way.
This process gives Veterans more control over their lives and help them make the transition from serving to civilian life.
The project gives participants a voice, and will enable audiences, and those around them, to better understand their experiences.
At all stages we endeavour to make it clear that the vast majority of military personnel will leave the forces in good health and that they go on to lead full and effective civilian lives.
