After some ‘alarms and excursions’ (how often Shakespeare gives you the words!) we have secured C venues Surgeons Hall as the venue for this year’s Edinburgh Festival performance of ‘The Dandelion Patch’. It’s a great space, in the heart of everything, and they actively want us as part of their programme as they have worked with ex-Forces groups in London.
We are working with writer Tim Barrow, and an edited script of our devised version is nearly ready. Tim co-wrote the recently successful ‘A Play of Two Halves’, about the Hearts player who joined up in WW1. Directed by Jennie McGregor, rehearsals start in Dundee from 5thAug, and we’ll be performing at 3pm every day in Edinburgh from 19th to 24th Aug.
We’re still in the process of raising funds for the run, but are confident we’ll get there. Our thanks to Creative Scotland who have confirmed funding so far. And thanks also Poppy Scotland for their encouragement.
Hope you will come along and support us and the project, and we’d also appreciate if you could help spread the word. See you in Edinburgh!
