Are you a WIS Veteran?
Do you miss being with friends who share your experiences?
Do you find yourself low in confidence?
Would you benefit from having people really listen to you?
THEN THIS IS FOR YOU!
WHERE: Macrobert Arts Centre.
WHEN: Fridays, starting 7th Sept 2018 with a taster session.
HOW LONG: 3 hours – 2.45 pm to 5.45 pm.
WHO FOR: Workshops are targeted at wounded, sick or injured veterans or those who are facing isolation, but are open to any veteran or family members.
WHAT ARE THEY?
They are enjoyable sessions where you will acquire drama skills. The confidence you build from using these skills can be transferred to your day to day life. They may lead to short performances where Veterans choose to do so. There will always be time during each session for socialising.
Sessions will be free to attend, we’ll even provide tea/coffee and biscuits!
WHO WILL LEAD THEM?
They will be led by Hannah Uttley, a community drama professional with experience of working with Veterans.
WHAT WILL YOU GET OUT OF IT?
You will definitely gain in confidence. You’ll have fun, and work in a creative, safe, supportive – but also challenging environment. You will gain a sense of achievement at having met the challenges offered. The process helps to reduce anxiety and stress, and provides a purpose and strong social support. Participants will benefit from being with veterans and civilians, and from talking things through with others who respect and value their experiences.
